Let’s start with intros..

My name is Jonathan Cabrera, Founder & CEO of Abstract Lifestyle.

Abstract Lifestyle is a speaking platform used to encourage and motivate Black & Brown students (middle school to college) to be more intentional about pursuing higher education & entrepreneurship while still maintaining their cultural identity through the arts. Abstract Lifestyle also works on educating entities that seek inclusivity of Black & Brown culture in their organizations as America continues to diversify and tan.

This is accomplished through public speaking, musical content and blog posts. The brand is named after my rap name “Abztract.” See, in our own ways, we are all different, unique, “abstract” and we should seek to make that our lifestyle. Within the Pandora of race and colorism lies the simple truth that, in our most basic form, (race aside) we are all irreplicable individuals with specific gifts ready to be unwrapped and offered to the world. We owe it to ourselves to bring those gifts out to their fullest potential, that means discovering every aspect of who we are: educationally, vocationally & culturally.

However, truth is where I’m from, it is abstract (to many odd) to see a young Latino as myself earn his masters degree, gain solid work experience, start his own venture and still write raps at the same time. There needs to be more of this. My desire is for all people ready to embrace this cultural shift to join me with a seat at the table.

Let us break bread and figure how to be our best abstract self while assisting others to achieve that as well.
